Lance Armstrong Film Shoot in Alpe d'Huez

Stephen Frears chooses Ben Foster for Armstrong role

British film director Stephen Frears is to start shooting his film on Lance Armstrong in Alpe d'Huez with American actor Ben Foster playing the lead role.

Considered one of the most famous British filmmakers, Stephen Frears will be shooting his new film in Alpe d'Huez, which follows the Lance Armstrong's highs and lows on the international cycling circuit.
Undoubtedly the life of Lance has all the drama to make an interesting film, from fighting off cancer and winning seven consecutive Tour de France titles to being stripped of his titles in a doping scandal.

Filming is scheduled between October 18th and 25th in Alpe d'Huez, Bourg d'Oisans and La Grave.
Extras are being currently being recruited, some 850 men and women between 16 and 75 years are needed for the shoot.

Alpe d'Huez hosts a wide range of events throughout the year. In the winter, you can expect motor racing on ice, comedy festivals, ski races and various live music gigs. During the summer months, the focus turns to cycling with the Tour de France usually passing through town. The Megavalanche, a mass-start mountain bike race that draws thousands of MTB fans from around the world, takes place in July.
