Les Deux Alpes and Alpe d'Huez to offer joint lift ticket
The ski areas of 2 Alpes and Alpe d'Huez in France are now accessible with a single lift ticket. Although not fully interchangeable, each resort allows two days to discover their ski area to holidaymakers buying a pass in the other. "A shuttle bus will allow easy transport between the two resorts." according to an Alpe d'Huez spokeswoman.
The SATA, Tourism Development Society of Alpe d'Huez and Grandes Rousses has also announced that it has agreed an investment of 70 million euros for the coming five years.
"The goal of this programme is to satisfy customers, to guarantee a longer operating period of the area, to optimize the ski run and snow networks, and to pursue environment-friendly actions." according to an Alpe d'Huez spokeswoman.
For the coming winter, developments will include the replacement of the three ski lifts and Bergers cable car by a "unique device", which will serve a beginners run, the chalets area and the Club Med area.
The Rif Nel lift will be doubled, offering a new free beginners access.
There'll also be the development of the ski area next to Oz-en-Oisans in to fun terrain area for beginners to intermediate skiers.
