This weekend is the official opening weekend for Alpe d'Huez and at the top of the Marmottes chair lift, the team at La Folie Douce have been getting ready to welcome you all.

Tomorrow is their first day of the new season and they'll be throwing a huge party to celebrate.

Doors open from 10:00 for breakfast and coffees and then self-service La Petite Cuisine open for food and drinks from 11:30. The party really gets started at 14:00 for the first official après ski session of the season and we're told there may even be a Folie Douce Mannequin Challenge taking place.. La Fruitierie restaurant will be opening for the Christmas holidays.

The good news is that if you're not skiing, you can still access La Folie Douce on foot via the Marmottes 1 covered ski lift which departs from Les Bergers. On skis or snowboards, you can take the same lift or ski down on the Agneaux piste (find it here on the piste map).

The weather forecasts are predicting sunshine so it's looking set to be a great day.

If you can't be here with us this weekend you can check in on the fun with our new webcam in the VIP area and also via Facebook & Twitter.
