Ski pass prices in Alpe d'Huez

You can buy your lift pass online (see button below) and have it delivered to your home, or you can collect it from one of the ski pass offices in resort.

You can also buy your pass at any of the ski pass offices, but to get the best price we recommend you buy online at least three days in advance.

On top of the lift pass price, you’ll be asked to pay €2 for a hands-free card to use on the turnstiles. This goes for everyone, including children under five (who go free on the lifts).

Hang on to your card at the end of your holiday. You’ll be able to use it on future trips to Alpe d'Huez.

Don't forget to bring a copy of your receipt on holiday. If you lose your lift pass on the mountain, you'll need the receipt to get a replacement.

The Alpe d'Huez ski season runs from 30 November 2024 to 21 April 2025.

Early or late season skiing

Ski passes tend to be cheapest right at the beginning and end of the season, when snow cover is less guaranteed.

If you're considering coming then, it's a good idea to keep an eye on our Alpe d'Huez snow forecast for an up-to-date view of local conditions.

There are two ski pass areas in Alpe d'Huez: Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine and the smaller Vaujany and Oz-en-Oisans area. Both have terrain to suit all abilities. There's just a lot more of it in the Grand Domaine.

Prices 

The Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine ski pass gives you unlimited access to 250km of pistes, five ski areas and two villages. See map of the Grand Domaine ski area

On passes of two days or more, you'll also get:

• discounts on tickets for the alpine luge
• free night skiing every Thursday

The benefits really start kicking in when you stay a bit longer. If your Alpe d'Huez ski pass is for six days or more, you'll get everything in the two-day pass, plus:

• two days in Les 2 Alpes
• a day each in the resorts of Sestriere, Puy Saint-Vincent and Montgenèvre
• 25% off a day pass at La Grave
• for a one-off payment of €20, access to the Alpe d'Huez sports centre, outdoor pool, ice rink, gym, table tennis and mini-golf

To buy a student or a grand senior pass you'll need to go to one of the ski pass offices in resort. 

If you're a student, don't forget to take student ID.

If you prefer it quieter

For nearly €20 a day less than the access-all-areas pass, you can buy a local area ski pass for the slopes of Vaujany and Oz-en-Oisans. The terrain is more limited, but there are slopes for all levels. You'll find it's often less busy too.

This pass includes the Pass'Loisirs which lets you use the ice rink and swimming pool in Vaujany. 

If you want to go beyond Vaujany and Oz-en-Oisans

Fancy exploring more of Alpe d'Huez? Go to a ski pass office and ask for a one-day extension to your Oz-Vaujany pass. You'll pay about €20 less than the full price of a Grand Domaine ski pass and get to ski anywhere in Alpe d'Huez for a day. 

The offer is valid on Oz-Vaujany ski passes of two days or more.

These are our top tips for saving money on your ski pass:

• come early or late in the season
• buy a family pass
• buy group tickets
• book early
• buy multiple days - you’ll get a much better day rate
• choose an Oz-Vaujany pass over a Grand Domaine pass

If you're coming skiing for a week with two or more children over the age of five, you'll be able to save up to €300 when you buy a family ski pass.

You'll need to buy online at least three days in advance.

The family booking must include:

• at least two children aged 5 to 22 years - can be cousins
• a maximum of two adults aged 23 to 71 - can be parents, grandparents or older siblings 

You can't include children under five and adults over 71 years.  

Family lift pass prices in Alpe d'Huez

You can get a family pass if you're skiing for six or more days.

If you're only just starting to ski or snowboard, you don't actually need a ski pass at all. At Alpe d'Huez, you can use the following lifts for free: 

• Rifnel 1 drag lift
• Grenouilles magic carpet
• Petit Ecole drag lift  

But once you find your feet, you'll probably want to explore a bit more terrain. 

At Alpe d'Huez you can save up to €30 a day by buying a beginner ski pass, although only if you're an adult. For children, the price of a full ski pass isn't that different to the cost of a beginner pass and you won't save as much.

You'll need to go to one of the ski pass offices in resort to buy your beginner ski pass. You can't do it online.

See a piste map for Alpe d'Huez

You heard it right, you can ski for free in Alpe d'Huez ... but only if you're under five years old, or using one of the 3 beginner lifts. 

You'll still need to pay €2 for a hands-free card to get through the turnstiles, but this can be used on subsequent visits to Alpe d'Huez.

It's a good idea to take ID when you buy a hands-free card. You may be asked to prove your age, or your kids' ages.

Free child's pass in spring

If you are skiing late in the season, you'll get a free child's pass for every adult pass you buy. Naturally there are a few conditions.

• your child can be anywhere from 5 to 22 years old
• your adult pass needs to be for at least three days (no more than 10)
• you'll need to order online at least 48 hours in advance

Whether you want to go snow-shoeing, watch the kids' first ski lesson or join friends at a mountain restaurant, a pedestrian pass lets you go up without skis or a snowboard.

If you're under 5 or over 71, you won't need a pedestrian pass to go up on foot.

Some of the lifts in Alpe d'Huez are free to pedestrians, including: 

• Huez Express linking Huez and l’Alpe d’Huez
• Télécentre linking Vieil 1800 area
• L’Alpe Express linking Vieil Alpe and Bergers area

On other lifts, you can buy pedestrian passes either for single journeys or multiple days (from two to 10 days).

Prefer putting your heart through its paces on the flat? 

A cross-country ski pass in Alpe d'Huez gives you access to 28km of trails. There are five trails in total: 

• Nordic Park circuit: 1km (Difficulty level: Green)
• Poutran circuit: 10km (Difficulty level: Blue)
• Lake circuit: 10km (Difficulty level: Red)
• La Rochette circuit: 8km (Difficulty level: Red)
• Lac Besson circuit: 10km (Difficulty level: Red)

You'll need to get your cross country ski pass from any Alpe d'Huez ski pass office.

If you're here for the season

You can get a cross country skiing season pass for €205.50 - or €82.50 if you already have a regular ski pass. 

Seniors (over 71 years of age) pay €82.50, with or without a regular ski pass.

Children under five go free.

If you're planning to spend more than a couple of weeks in Alpe d'Huez this winter, you've got a few options to save money on your lift journeys. You can buy:

• an Alpe d'Huez Flexi pass - a pay-as-you-go ski pass 
• a season pass - there are two versions, depending on where you want to ski or snowboard
• an annual pass - valid from the beginning of June to April (the end of the ski season) 

Flexi pass

• subscription based
• you'll need a French bank account to apply
• upfront 'membership' cost of €15
• your account is automatically charged at the end of the day you use the lifts
• the more you ski, the more you save - there are special discounts and savings on weekends throughout the season

Season passes

An Alpe d'Huez season pass costs roughly the equivalent of a three week ski pass, so it's excellent value if you're staying in the resort for a while. You pay a fixed price and then ride the lifts as often or as little as you like.

A season pass is valid from 30 November 2024 to 21 April 2025, but to get the best price, you'll need to buy it before the beginning of October. Prices go up a lot after that.

With an Alpe d'Huez season pass you can: 

• ski Alpe d'Huez, Auris-en-Oisans, Villard-Reculas, Vaujany and Oz-en-Oisans
• get a 25% reduction on a day pass for La Grave, a freeride paradise around an hour away from Alpe d'Huez
• enjoy a 10% reduction on 5, 10 and 20 ride packs at Les Bergers sledge on rails
• ski three days free in the Grandvalira resort in Andorra
• go night skiing every Thursday (and every Tuesday during school holidays)

With a Supernova season pass you can: 

• ski at Alpe d'Huez, Les Deux Alpes and La Grave
• enjoy discounts of 10% on ski passes in each of the three areas for your companions
• benefit from a number of free ski passes for friends and family valid for the winter season
• ski three days free in the Grandvalira resort in Andorra
• go night skiing every Thursday (and every Tuesday during school holidays)

Annual lift passes at Alpe d'Huez

With an annual lift pass you can use lifts between June and the following April at: 

• Alpe d'Huez
• Auris-en-Oisans
• Villard-Reculas
• Vaujany
• Oz-en-Oisans

You'll get 10 days in Les 2 Alpes and three days each in: 

• Serre Chevalier
• Puy St Vincent
• Montgenèvre

There are also discounts on passes to:

• the backcountry paradise of La Grave
• L'Alpe du Grand Serre
• the Les Bergers luge

When you buy your annual pass, you'll be given a voucher to use for the following summer, so make sure you keep it somewhere safe! 

The Grand Senior (72 years plus) annual pass for 2024 to 2025 is €354,50 and is valid from either summer 2024 to winter 2024/25 (22 June 2024 until 21 April 2025) OR 30 November 2024 until the end of the summer 2025 season. Please note: Grand Senior passes do not include access to the Grand Galaxie and Ski de fond. 

The prices on this page do not include insurance.

You’ll be given the option to add ski insurance when you buy your ski pass. This is provided by Assur'Glisse and normally costs a few euros a day. 

You don’t have to buy insurance from the lift company, but we can’t stress how important it is to have a snow sports policy in place before you come skiing or snowboarding in Alpe d'Huez.  

Hopefully you’ll never have an accident. But if you have to be helicoptered off the mountain, or spend any time in hospital in France, you could end up with a huge bill.
